STOCKHOLM, Sweden – The jackup Maersk Guardian has spudded an exploration well on the Ogna prospect in the North Sea for Lundin Norway.
Well 8/5-1 is being drilled on license PL453S, 65 km (40 mi) from the BP Norge-operatedUla field. The main aim is to prove hydrocarbons in Upper to Middle Jurassic reservoirs. Lundin believes Ogna could hold prospective resources of 156 MMboe.
Planned TD is 2,444 m (8,018 ft) below mean sea level. Drilling is expected to last about 50 days.
Partners are Det norske oljeselskap, Noreco, and VNG Norge.
